Halifax Wolverines Announce Head Coach Appointment and Staff Update

   

The Halifax Wolverines U15 Major Hockey Club is excited to announce Dave Byrne as their new head coach.

Dave is a highly accomplished and dedicated hockey coach with over 25 years of experience in developing young athletes from grassroots to elite levels. He holds a High Performance 1 Certification from Hockey Canada, underscoring his commitment to excellence in coaching and player development.

Dave's extensive resume includes head coaching positions across multiple AAA levels with organizations such as the Eastern Ontario Wild (U13 to U16) and with the Bedford Blues. Recently Dave led the Bedford Blues U13 AAA team to a Provincial Bronze medal in the 2024-2025 season. His expertise also extends to the junior level, where he served as an Assistant Coach for the Rockland Nationals (Jr. A).

Dave is the current Head Coach for Hockey Nova Scotia’s High Performance Program U15 team and has contributed to Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence in Ontario over the past few years.

Joining Dave on the Wolverines coaching staff will be Ethan Landry who comes over from the Valley Wildcats Junior A staff. Brady Crossley is also back and he has been with our team for the past two seasons. Also back is Kelly Bent who coached the Wolverines in 20/21 and 21/22 and who has just returned from playing professionally. Also on staff will be Steve Bent. 

The Halifax Wolverines U15 Hockey Club begins its season on September 8 as the fall tryout process kicks off.
